Found this restaurant late night on a Saturday after spending the day sight seeing. Menu posted outside looked good and the place welcoming. Glad we went in, place was clean and well kept. Service was fast, also likely coz we were the last folks for the night, and waiter very friendly. We ordered noodles and chili chicken, the food was spicy like mentioned. Tasty, authentic, prices were decent, good portions, and we loved it
Food is alright, price is meh. The restaurant was better a few years ago.
The service was horrible and the food was marginal at best. The waitress Ricky was very condescending and never checked on us. We had to ask another waitress for a second order and the check. I would recommend any other Chinese restaurant other than this!
Good food for the price. Always come back here if I feel like eating Asian food when in this area.
I went to the Lotus Garden about 3 weeks ago with my families. The decor was to be honest very outdated and rather dark and a bit dingy. When we went there it was absolutely deserted the only people we see in the place was the hostess and one waiter. That was it, only when we finished our meal did we see another customer come in for a takeout order. Now having said that we did came when tourist season is at it's low point. The food was mixed bag, the Sizzling beef stake in "chinese sauce" was decent as was the chicken and mango salad. The steamed vegetable entree (don't remember what the dish's name was), the only thing that put us off was the special seafood soup. When it was served it was just above warm, very watery and had a unusual taste. And the price for all this trip to this place? $90.00 for 4 entrees and 3 bowls of rice. Tax and Tips included. Now I would recommend anyone to go this joint? I would say try once and see how it pans out.
Its ok. A typical average chinese restaurant. The foods was ok.
Tried authentic Chinese buffet here for the first time. Really liked some of the dishes, some were too sweet for my taste as I prefer really spicy food.Everything was clean and well organized, will recommend to try at least once.
We were looking for "all you can eat" Chinese buffet on Google and this was listed as number one on the list. As soon as we got in the restaurant it didn't feel welcomed and it wasn't "all you can eat" like it said on Google. It was just sit in and order kind of restaurant. The host got us sited and we ordered Cantonese chow mein and beef sweet sizzling hot plate with white rice. The order came out quick and the taste was horrible. Didn't taste like authentic Chinese cuisine. On top of that I found fruit flies in beef sweet sizzling hot plate. Plus the customer service was horrible. The host didn't even asked us if we wanted any drinks or asked for anything else. At least they didn't charge us for the beef hot plate after I told them about the flies I found in our food.
Traditional family-style Cantonese at its finest! Never dreamed I’d find it in Niagara Falls, ON but certainly glad I did. Friendly staff, good vibes, and while everything was exceptional, the Seafood Udon Soup was on another level. Wish this my neighborhood place.
Worst Chinese food entire my lifetime.... Simply awesome. Especially fried rice......
Love food. Plenty of it. Party of five and we all had more than enough to satisfy. Like going here during afternoon, not as busy. To Management: clean your windows, especially front door windows, all tables (those with lazy susan are horrible) washrooms need tlc., dusting ceiling fixtures, floortiles are loose in places (looking for accident?) and drinking glasses and eating utensils need cleaning.
Today's visit wasn't great as the food was mediocre but usually the food is great! Especially the chicken chow mein. Service is good.
It was so tasty. The staff were so friendly. The food was recommended was awesome! I will definitely come again.
Came to this place with 10 family members. They seated us at two tables, then 10 minutes later said we had only 30 minutes to eat because it was reserved for people coming soon... I don't get why they would have seated us there in the first place. Anyways, they moved us to a bigger table to accomodate us after another group finished, wasn't busy in the restaurant but it took them a while to get us organized. I was getting really hungry! We ordered 4 dinner-for-four sets and the food was good but tasted like your typical Chinese food. The atmosphere was boring as there was no background music... just the sound of our group talking.
Excellent food. Very tasty. Wanted to order desserts but waiter brought the bill so did not order. I guess their loss! And also had to ask for fortune cookies. But the food was very good. Service ummm that is why no 5 stars!
Food is very good and affordable. Service was a little slow but the food came quickly. bathroom is not well maintained.Overall. Really nice.
Chineess good
I ate here many times in recent 10 years with family, standard Chinese taste, the quality is pretty stable.
The spring rolls made me dance...it's a 5 STAR MILO JAMES!Also the waitress was fabulous and helpful, we will be back. Denny
The dinner for 2 is amazing! My husband and I had to get to go containers. Best value!
Staffs having the bad attitude,.chairs, tables are very old and dirty. Food was terrible, bad test and raw. It was the worst experience in my life dining in this Chinese restaurant.
It's just an ok experience If your looking for some delicious, flavorful Chinese food..this is not the right place. The service is quick..the waiter was helpful in choosing the dishes...the place was clean...but I guess the chef needs to do more for his customers. Located near a parking lot...walking distance from the main intersection in downtown Niagara Falls.
A niagara falls staple. ...has been there for 40 years. Very popular with the chinese bus tours. But I would not recommend this place to someone. Very sweet people but he good was not good at all. The chicken was very dry and no sauce. The rice was actually not too bad. We also had a noodle dish and it was very bland and boring. Didnt go in with high expectations.
Find a bug in their noodles. Then they gave us $5 discount. When argued with them, I was told "it's normal, not going to hurt." Never come back.
Food was amazing. Atmosphere and decor could use a tiny bit of updating but overall I cannot complain about the service or quality of the food which is what I went in there looking for. Great job overall
We had a very nice experience. Cindy was wonderful & very friendly and our food was great. We will definitely make it back there again next year. Sorry for late review just found card..lol. Thanks Cindy from Brad(customs) Linda from Amherstburg, On.
Good food and fast friendly service and the price is good too and a block away from Clifton hill
Great food, great service at a reasonable price
Good food. Nice place.
Horrible experience! Party of 7 entering the restaurant. We were not greeted. The restaurant has no working A/C. We sat and waited over 10 mins and still no waiter assisting us, while 4 employees were too busy chit chatting at the register. We left the place and went to next door, “New York Restaurant”. They were way better!
The price doesn't reflect the quality of food. Very, very, very poor service, older man was rude. Our orders came out of the kitchen 5-10 minutes in between each. Ridiculous! And when I asked the older man to follow-up our order, he responded "You have to wait a little longer". What the fudge?! Dude! We've been waiting for like 30 minutes already.Did not give a tip and definitely not going back here for sure.I'd rather eat a burger at one of the fast food chains, I'd get better service.
From the outside you see just a regular Chinese take out. But go inside and you will see what a family own business should look like. It's clean and comfortable. The food was impressive and not salty or greasy. I'm from NYC and I know Chinese food. I been to China Town, Flushing, Etc. If you are looking for real Chinese food this is it. Check them out. This is as good as it gets. They just need to update outside menus and photos. We are sad they took away dim sum however.
Food is OK. 15% Tips is already added to the bill, staff didn't mention that! Make sure check your bill before you pay!!!
Worst experience ever...we were greeted by a young lady who said she would get a table ready for our party of 3. Two minutes later a young man with a condescending and rude attitude said he had no table for us and that we had to wait 20 minutes. It was obvious he didn't want to serve us because the place was half empty. We decided to leave and we're glad we did because we had a great meal at Montana's steakhouse. It is sad to see a place that we had visited in the past change for the worse. Don't waste your time with Lotus Garden.
A pleasant, quiet, inexpensive place with amazing food. Both their dry-rub ribs and chicken in peanut oil tasted delicious. I've only been there once, but this is now a must-go place for my wife and I next time we are in town. They also have good bubble tea with tapioca, but that's a little pricey for a small drink. Overall, their prices are a little higher than the Chinese place next door, but not by much. And the great food, service, and atmosphere are more than worth the extra couple of bucks.
This restaurant is perhaps Niagara Falls best kept secret. If you are in the Falls, and are craving good quality Chinese good (not that MSG laced slop that you generally find on buffet warming trays), then go to Lotus Garden. It's not a chain, it's just a good old fashioned Chinese restaurant where the food tastes really good. We drive 2 hours at least once every summer just to eat there. When you've seen all the attractions in this tourist town as many times as I have, eventually the novelty wears off...but everyone's still gotta EAT!
Very authentic Chinese cuisine. They are no nonsense and you better be ready to order. Preset options are a great way to go
Loved their soup
Best Chinese food, owner is so nice and friendly. As a Cantonese, I say the food is very good even compared to many places in Toronto, Markham or China. In other words, if you dont like what you order there, you dont like Cantonese style Chinese food.
This place was great. Clean and spacious. Maybe under new management? Dishes were clean, service friendly, and all the food was hot and good. Great place to avoid the high prices and crowded spaces of the niagara main.
The food was hot and fresh and the people was so friendly
Ok...didnt like the food..dnt go for it if you like spicy food.
Great place for some great Chinese food! Right along Clifton Hill. Great prices and delicious food.
All the food tasted like it had freezer burn. Service was extremely fast but made me suspicious as to how fresh it was. Tasted really microwaved.
The food was really good, loaded with tons of fresh vegetables that were perfectly cooked. My rating would definitely be a 5 star if it weren’t for a constant mechanical droning sound that was incredibly irritating. I felt bad for the poor people who have to work their all day, I almost went crazy in the 45 minutes I was there, a truly annoying sound. This definitely needs fixed for a good dining experience, or at the very least put on some music to drown out the sound.
A large group of us went for dinner at Lotus Garden on Saturday. The restaurant was very quiet. The staff were friendly and accommodating. After we ordered the 8 person special, the food came out quickly for us to eat.The prices were relatively reasonable, considering you're in Niagara Falls. The food, however, was subpar at best. The food lacks flavor and taste. The shrimp and seafood feels like they were boiled and nothing else. I was very disappointed in the food but will be appreciative of the service. There's also a parking lot right in front of the restaurant (probably for a cost) incase you're driving too.
No dumplings on new year. Shame!
Oh my goodness....
Waited 3 minutes to be seen and seated. Restaurants' mistake between menu and order, the owner tried to bluffing and get away with it. Over priced, mandatory 15% tips after tax price. Only Chinese tourists group who can't speak English go to this kind of place.
